Environmental insurance - a collection of various types of insurance of environmental risks, aimed at creating insurance coverage in the event of the insured, the insured and third parties (beneficiaries) of damage as a result of a sudden excess of pollution (land, water or air basin).
Environmental insurance system includes the following:
insurance liability of legal persons (organizations, enterprises, institutions) that are sources of increased danger of environmental damage, the carrier's liability (dangerous goods), etc.;
property insurance (land objects or other property, including buildings) in the case of application of environmental harm as a result of an accident or disaster;
private citizens insurance (life insurance and health organizations (enterprises, institutions) for the category of sources of increased danger, or citizens in the area potentially exposed to high-risk sources;
Institute of Environmental Insurance was the result of environmental hazards prezumtsii planned economic and other activities. A distinctive feature of environmental insurance is also the possibility of compensation of uncertain state of emergency damage. [1] According to Akhatova AG, environmental insurance can be considered as a basic element of the economic mechanism of environmental protection and natural resources. [1]
